Pregnancy and Postpartum Therapy

You’re the One Nobody’s Checking On

Growing a life is beautiful and hard. You are a mother who needs care too.

Someone comes by to meet your baby. They reach for the baby before they reach for you.

They say how healthy your baby looks. They’re right about that.

You’ve Been Waiting for Someone to Ask

“Soak it all in,” everyone keeps saying.

Underneath that you’re overwhelmed, on edge, or numb. Guilt sits on top of it, because this was supposed to be the season you loved most.

Nobody asks how you are.

You Keep Your Answer Short

You don’t know what’s wrong. You’ve thought about saying the real version of it out loud.

Then you picture how ungrateful that would sound coming from you.

So you say you’re tired.

Why Nobody Has Looked Any Closer at You

That answer gets accepted every time.

The people around you check on the baby, because the baby is the thing they know to check. A healthy baby answers their question.

So they stop there.

Say It Sooner Than You Think You Should

You’re the one still standing in the middle of it with everything nobody asked about.

Nothing has to be wrong with you for this to be hard.

Postpartum struggles nobody hears about can make bonding harder for a mother than it has to be.

You get to say the worst of it out loud and still be a good mother.

Tell Me What You’re Afraid to Say Out Loud

I’d rather hear about it from you early.

We’ll start with whatever you haven’t said yet. You say it once, to someone who won’t rush you past it.

I’ll take it seriously the first time I hear it.

You Won’t Have to Explain Why This Is Hard

You won’t have to build a case for why this season is hard on you. I’ll believe you.

Then we’ll put words to what’s happening in your body and in your mind.

Pregnancy therapy helps you name what is going on in your mind and body, understand why you feel the way you do, and feel heard and seen in this season.

Knowing why you feel this way takes some of the fear out of feeling it.

Support Before and After the Baby Comes

I work with women through pregnancy and after the baby comes home.

Whichever side of that you’re on, I’ll treat what you bring as real.

A session runs fifty minutes.

For all fifty of those minutes, nobody asks you about the baby.

Answer Honestly the Next Time Someone Asks

The next time someone asks how you’re doing, you’ll tell them something true.

Together, we focus on helping you feel supported, grounded, and more like yourself again.

They don’t have to take the whole week with them.

Say It to Someone Who Won’t Flinch

The things you haven’t told anybody are the ones worth starting with.

Use the link on this page to set up a free 20-minute consultation.

You’ll tell me what this season has actually been like for you.

For twenty minutes, the question is about you.

Intentional Therapy to Focus on Your Needs

I offer faith-rooted counseling for women, couples, and families navigating the pressures of everyday life.

You are conditioned to help everyone else and leave your needs by the wayside. Now is the time to change that.
